Ensemble d'Atlántico & Friends
25/26 is our first season of four vocal concerts in Gent in partnership with Madonna Feestzaal and mi casa tu casa. The first of many, we hope! After the morning concert at 11 am on the four Sundays you can sign up for Madonna's gastronomic lunch starting at 12:30. We're delighted that soprano Emma Posman has agreed to kick off our season on Sunday 26th October. Emma was catapulted to operatic fame when she sang the role of Queen of the Night at the Salzburg Festival and has never looked back. On Sunday 15th February you can hear our own new project for 25/26, called Loves & Legends, while on Sunday 22nd March Anna Pardo Canedo will sing a programme of opera, operetta and popular classics. Our final concert of the season will be given by Anna Nuytten, the beautiful Belgian mezzo who will sing a programme for Mother's Day on Sunday 10th May, based on her recent CD with lutenist Thomas Langlois.

Sunday 26th October Emma Posman, soprano. Emma was born in Gent, studied in Gent, and still lives here. Three excellent lifestyle choices, in our opinion. She was catapulted to operatic fame after singing the role of Queen of the Night at the Salzburg Festival, and has never looked back. She's a frequent guest artist at the Monnaie opera house in Brussels, and sings in fact all over Europe.
On Sunday February 15th 2026 Ensemble d'Atlántico will present our new project for 25/26, called Loves & Legends. It's a Valentine's Day concert (well actually the day after, when you're still thinking with either delight or regret about the previous day). It's full of happy love, unhappy love, who cares about love anyway? and the legends and cultural strengths of Latin America. Music by de Falla, Turina, Granados, Ginastera and the brilliant Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona, who has been enjoying something of a revival during the past few years. He has one foot in Cuba, one foot in Spain (flexible man!) so at the end of the concert we're back in Europe.
On Sunday 22nd March 2026 Anna Pardo Canedo will be joined by pianist Andrew Wise for a programme of popular classics for Spring, including the irresistible Siete Canciones populares Espanoles by de Falla and a selection of arias from opera and operetta.

On Sunday 10th May Duo Coordonné will perform excerpts from their recent cd, La couleur de l’ombre. This is the second album by mezzo-soprano Anna Nuytten and lutenist Thomas Langlois, in which they explore the rich world of early French Baroque Airs de cour — songs that, despite their courtly origins, delve deeply into raw human emotions: passion, pain, rejection, sorrow, excitement, frustration, anger, and more. Duo Coordonné also turns to the repertoire of modern French icon Barbara. Though rooted in autobiography, her songs transform personal darkness into vivid poetic expression. Spanning centuries, both styles are linked by language, emotional depth, atmosphere, and instrumental colour. A letter from Barbara, read by Anna, serves as a guiding thread throughout the performance.
